12 Days of Christmas in July: Day 10

Hello,

We're already to day 10...my first series is just flying by.  I have a pretty cute card to show you today.  I absolutely love the reds, greens and pinks as a color theme for Christmas.  I actually have pink, orange, green and blue ornaments for my Christmas tree.  They are just so fun and bright.  Well let's get to today's card.

This card is a standard A2 size card.  I cut the red layer at 4x5.25".  The pink layer is cut at 3.5x2.75".  The green patterned paper is from the Me & My Big Ideas paper pad called Explorer and it is cut at 4.5x2.75".  My image is from the Simply Charmed cartridge on page 62.  The image and its shadow are cut at 3.5".  I followed the color scheme in the handbook.  The silver hanger cut is a shimmery silver cardstock from Michael's and the middle pink glitter cut is a glitter cardstock that I got from Joann's.

I stamped a little "Happy Holidays" on the front of my card in black ink.  The stamp is one of the Studio G stamps.  In this picture you can see the metallic pattern of the green paper.

I used the cheater method to add some black 1/8" satin ribbon and then cut another piece off to make a little bow.  I added some black faux stitching to the pink layer to help it stand out.  I also added some little doodles on my ornament cut to give it some character.  In this photo you can see that I popped up the ornament with pop dots.

Instructions:
White Cardstock Base: A2 (4.25x5.5")
Red Cardstock Layer: 4x5.25"
Pink Cardstock Layer: 3.5x2.75"
Green Cardstock Layer: 4.5x2.75"
Ornament & Shadow Cut (p. 62): 3.5"
1/8" Black Satin Ribbon
Black Ink & "Happy Holidays" stamp

I hope you enjoyed day 10 of my 12 Days of Christmas in July 2012 series.  I am linking this card up to the Christmas in July Challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 blog.  I'll be back tomorrow with another card.

Have a Magical Day!!

12 Days of Christmas in July: Day 6

Hello,

Here we are for Day 6 of my 12 Days of Christmas in July 2012 series.  I made 3 little signs that are hung together.

They are simple and small but just right.  I used 3 different cartridges to make today's project.  They were Cricut Essentials which is one of the four cartridges installed on my Cricut Expression 2 machine, Lite Cherry Limeade and Simply Charmed.  The base for the signs were cut at 3.25" and from pages 26 & 27.  I chose to use the red polka dot paper as the frames.  The 2 signs I cut for the Santas were turned on the sides in order to make the Santas fit within the frame.

I cut the Santas at 3" each with a black shadow from Simply Charmed.  I added 2 red jewels on the bottom of the signs to match the larger jewel on the "Believe" sign.  The Santas are popped up with pop dots to add some dimension.

I cut the letters for this sign from Lite Cherry Limeade at 1.5" and the whole word fit perfectly in the white section of this sign.  I added a large red jewel on the dot for the "i".

For each of the signs I punched 2 small holes in the corners and strung 1/8" black satin ribbon in order to hang them.  I debated hanging them all on one string but I liked the individual hangers better.

Instructions:
Signs (pg. 26 &27): 3.25"
Letters: 1.5"
Santas (p. 64): 3"
Red Jewels (2 sizes)
1/8" Black Satin Ribbon

Hope you enjoyed today's project.  I'm half way done with this series and I can't believe how fast it is going.  Come back tomorrow for another project.

Have a Magical Day!!
