Happy Birthday!!

Hi,
This post is about the birthday card I made for 3 different challenges:

1) Celebrate the Occasion: #52 Birthday Bling Challenge -- In order to help build up your birthday card stash the challenge this week was to create a birthday card and you must use bling.
2) Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog: #100 Color Challenge -- This challenge is all about color specifically the colors that make up the FCCB blog (purple, turquoise, and green).
3) Cardz TV: #103 You Take The Cake Challenge -- This challenge is for a birthday card with a cake or cupcake.

Okay now that that is out of the way on to my card.  I used a cartridge I just received, Sweet Treats.  I chose the cake on page 40 as my main image.

Since I cut a bigger cake I decided to use a square card base (5.5 x 5.5").  I orginally hadn't cut a shadow but decided it needed something to help make the cake stand out.  The cake was cut at 5" and the shadow at 4.8".  I didn't want the shadow to be as large as it would have been if I would have cut it at 5".  I embossed the blue layer with the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder.  The jewels I used are actually light purple so they matched the purple cardstock.  I used Studio G glitter glue in yellow to decorate the flame and Glossy Accents over the Happy Birthday cut.  I also added the green brads that I got from Hobby Lobby.

Here's a close up of the words and the jewels.  This is a bright, fun card.  I really loved how it turned out.

Recipe:
White Cardstock Base: 5.5 x 5.5"
Green Cardstock Layer: 5.25 x 5.25"
Blue Cardstock Layer: 5.25 x 2.5" (embossed with D'vine Swirls)
Purple Cardstock Layer: 5.25 x 1"
Cake: 5" (page 40 in Sweet Treats cartridge)
Cake Shadow: 4.8" (page 40 in Sweet Treats cartridge)
Studio G glitter glue, Glossy Accents, Light purple jewels

Aloha Scrapbook LO

Hi,
This scrapbook layout was made for the Wacky Wednesday Challenge at More Than Favors.  This week's challenge theme is vacations.  I decided to make a layout for my mom's trip to Hawaii.  The base layer of my layout was from the Island Heritage paper pack.  The aloha was already printed on the paper.  I also used patterned paper from The Paper Studio "A Day at the Beach" paper pack.
I used the Luau Seasonal cartridge to cut the sun and palm trees.  I wanted the page to be simple because I didn't want it to take away from the pictures I have to get printed.  I added some Studio G glitter glue to the sun and palm trees.  I just loved the way the page turned out.

Recipe:
Photo Mats:
--4.75 x 6.75" & 4.5 x 6.5"
--4.75 x 5.25" & 4.5 x 5"

Palm Trees: 6"

Animal Print Monogram Cards

Hello,
These cards are for Bitten by the Bug 2's Any Cartridge Mongram Challenge.  For this challenge you are allowed to use any cartridge to make a monogram card.  I decided to use some fun animal print paper that I got from Michael's.  I also used black satin ribbon and jewels from my stash.  Enjoy the pictures :)

To make my monogram I used Font 3 on the Cricut American Alphabet cartridge.  I loved the little flourishes that were added to these letters.  I really enjoy the colors since they are so bright and fun.  The solid color paper is the back of the animal print paper so there was no need to worry about finding colors that matched.
On these individual pictures you can see the embossing I did with my Cuttlebug.  I used 2 folders from the Animal Prints Set.  I used the Cheetah and Zebra print folders.

The zebra texture wasn't as pronounced as I would have liked but I still love the way it turned out.

Recipe:
Black Card Base: A2-4.25 x 5.5"
Animal Print Layer: 4 x 5.25"
Solid Color Layer: 3 x 4"
Letter from Cricut American Alphabet Font 3: 4"
Letter Embossed with Animal Prints Cuttlebug Folders
Black Satin Ribbon & Jewels from Stash

Just Relax

Hello,
I know this is crazy because its my third post today but I made all 4 projects yesterday and put the pictures on my computer so all I had to do was write the posts today.  This card was made for the A Stitch in Time challenge at Cardz TV.  The challenge is to create a card for any occasion using real or faux stitching.

I wanted to do something extra fun so I made a relaxing card with the face mask from the Cricut Lite cartridge Slumber Party.  I definitely need to do some relaxing this week since I take my nursing boards on Thursday.  I chose the blue and green colors because I love this color combination.  I used my white gel pen to add some faux stitching around the black base and mask.  I had to add some light blue glitter glue to the polka dots.  I also embossing the background with my Cuttlebug.

Recipe:
Card Base: 5 x 5"
Layer: 4 1/2 x 4 1/2" (Polka Dots Cuttlebug folder)
Mask: 4"
1/4" We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper
Studio G Glitter Glue
Ribbon from stash
White Gelly Roll Pen for faux stitching

Minnie Mouse Layout

Hello,
This layout is for the Colors of Love challenge at Whimiscal Wednesday.  The challenge is to create a card or project using red, white and one other color.  I decided to use black as my other color.  As I've mentioned before I love Disney so the first thing that came to mind for the colors red and white was Minnie Mouse.  I've been making a lot of cards lately so I wanted to switch it up so for this challenge I decided to make a scrapbook layout.

Here's the layout I created.  I love these colors together.  I added some bling from my stash on some of the picture mats.  Can you spot the hidden Mickey??
This is the close-up of Minnie.  I love the polka dot paper that I used for her dress and bow.  It's just so cute and fun.
Here's the close up of the page title.  This title along Minnie is from the Mickey and Friends cartridge.
Here's the Hidden Mickey I was talking about.  I created it with bling from my stash.  I thought the black and white polka dot paper was a great addition to the page.

Recipe:
Minnie Mouse Title: 2 1/4" (page 88)
Minnie Mouse: 4 1/2" (page 92)
Picture Mats
--6 1/4 x 4 1/4" & 6 x 4"
--5 x 2 1/2" & 4 3/4 x 2 1/4"

Greetings from Wisconsin

Hi,
I was born and raised in Wisconsin so this is my Home Sweet Home.  This is the card I made for the Home Sweet Home challenge at Krafty Girls.  I decided that I wanted my card to look like a Greetings from postcard.  I think it turned out great.

I printed the Greetings from on the blue cardstock from my computer.  I used Designer's Calendar and the Cricut Craft Room to make the Wisconsin cut-out.  I slanted it using Cricut Craft Room.  The cheese block and cow are both from the cartridge From My Kitchen.  I made the grass by welding a rectangle and the grass icon on the Pooh and Friends cartridge.

I have to say that this card turned out to be way cuter than I thought it would be.

Recipe:
Card Base: A2-4 1/4 x 5 1/2" (kraft cardstock)
Layer: 3 3/4 x 5" (light blue cardstock)
Wisconsin Title: 1 1/2" (welded & slanted using CCR)
Cow: 2 1/2" (page 75)
Cheese: 1" (page 43)

You Make My Heart Thump

Hello,
I decided to make a card for the "Fun with Puns" Challenge at Fantabulous Cricut.  This is also my first time participating in a challenge...yay!!  I've been wanting to make a card with a Thumper cut from the Disney Classics cartridge.  This challenge was the perfect opportunity to do so.

I added some extra touches with the hearts and the flower.  The flower was from a card making kit that I got a long time ago.  I thought it was just what this card needed.  I popped up Thumper to give the card some dimension. I just loved the way it turned out.

Recipe:
Card Base: A2-4 1/4 x 5 1/2" (light yellow)
Layer: 3 3/4 x 5" (light purple)
Sentiment: 3 3/4 x 3/4" (light blue)
Thumper: 4 1/2" (page 68)
Hearts: 3/4" (page 39)

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi,
Now with this post I'm finally caught up with all the things I've created thus far with my Cricut.  Here are the Valentine's cards I made.
This cute little cupcake is from the Slumber Party Lite cartridge.  I added the sparkles, Be Mine stamp, and ribbon to make them extra special.  I embossing the kraft accent paper with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  I got the cupcake paper from Michael's.
This card was made using the Designer's Calendar cartridge for the conversation heart.  I got the conversation heart paper from the same paper pack from Michael's.
I love the way my first Valentine's cards turned out.  They were just so cute.
Have a Magical Day!!

Disney Cuts

Hello,
As I've mentioned I love Disney especially my Disney cartridges.  Here are the cuts I've done for a scrapbook I'm working on for my Dad and Stepmom.
Here's Mickey and all his friends.  These were the first Disney characters that I made.  I have individual pictures of each character below.

These were silouettes of all the characters and their icons that I cut out to use as a background for scrapbook pages.
Woody and Jessie from Toy Story.
 Tinkerbell and Peter Pan
Princess Aurora--I used shimmery Core'dinations paper.
I made some characters from Alice in Wonderland.
This is the page I completed for Critter Country at Disneyland minus the pictures.  It is seriously a super cute page if I do say so myself.
The last characters I made for the pages were Buzz Lightyear and Nemo.
Hope you enjoyed these cute Disney characters.
Have a Magical Day!!

Birthday Cards

Hi,
I had a few birthday cards to make in January.  These are the 3 that I came up with.
I designed these shape cards using the Cricut Craft Room.  The card on the left is made from the Lite Sweet Shop cartridge and the one on the right is from Lite Love You A Latte cartridge.  I used the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder on the frosting cuts to give them a little more dimension.
I love the birthday cake from the Disney Classics cartridge.  I made this one very colorful because every birthday should be colorful.  I added some dimension to the blank white card by embossing it with the Traffic Jam Cuttlebug folder.  I also added some sparkle to the flame on the candle.

First Vinyl Project

Hi,
When my mom moved into her apartment she got a wooden bench to put outside her door.  She said I could decorate it to make it more personal.
I used Silouette vinyl.  The dark red color fit perfectly.  I thought the saying "Home is Where the Heart is" was appropriate since the bench is right outside the front door.  I also added some little hearts besides the cut-out heart.  My mom loved the bench and I think it turned out great for my first vinyl project.  I can't wait to do more.

Kitchen Puns

Hello,
I really enjoy cooking so the From My Kitchen cartridge is definitely one I enjoy.  I made some cute kitchen pun cards.  Enjoy!!
"Poppin' By To Say Hi"--I love the retro look of the appliances on this cartridge.  I thought a toaster was quite appropriate for this saying.
"I Mix You"--This was my first cut from this cartridge.  I absolutely loved the way it turned out.  I used the frame from the background cut of the previous.  I also cut an oval and embossed it using the Cuttlebug.
"You're so Flippin' Hot"--I think this card turned out to be quite cute.  The little bow brought it all together.  I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder for the green paper.
Have a Magical Day!!

Disney Cards

Hi,
I love Disney!!! So there is no doubt that I love the Disney Cricut cartridges.  Here are the cards that I've made so far.
"You're Jawesome!"--This card features Bruce from the Best of Pixar Cartridge.  The seaweed and bubbles are also from that cartridge.
Some Disney love--I designed these cuts using Cricut Craft Room.  These are simple and elegant.  I used the Mickey & Friends and Mickey Font cartridges.  I added faux stitching and rhinestones to the cards.
"You're a Scream"--I cut Mike from Monsters Inc. and the monster background from the Best of Pixar cartridge.  I embossed the background with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I added the ribbon for fun.  It's hard to tell but the ribbon is a different shade of blue.
"You're Incredible"--Mr. Incredible and the graphic behind him was also cut from the Best of Pixar cartridge.
"What's Up Spud??"--Mr. Potato Head was cut from the Toy Story Cartridge.  I used my Cuttlebug on this project as well.  The embossing folder I used for this card is called Spots and Dots.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
Have a Magical Day!!

An Owl & A Monkey

Hello,
I've made quite a few cards since I got my Cricut Expression 2.  The 2 cards in this post are for my 2 best friends in Hawai'i.  One loves owls and the other loves monkeys.
The monkey is from the Just a Note cartridge and the Traffic Jam embossing folder.  This card is bright and fun.
The owl in this card is from the Happily Ever After cartridge.  I used my D'vine Swirls embossing folder for the background of my card.  This card is simple and cute.
Have a Magical Day!!

Bitten by the Cricut Bug

Hello,
Well I know I have been bitten by the bug.  I absolutely love creating things using my Cricut.  I made these cute decorations from the Cricut Decals cartridge.  Since I live in Wisconsin it was appropriate to make the snowflake with the Cricut head.  I also LOVE cupcakes so I also had to make the cupcake with the Cricut head.  Check them out.
The zebra print is a little crazy but I love it.
Have a Magical Day!!

Aloha

Hi,
Since I recently graduated from college in Hawai'i I had to make some Aloha-style projects.  My mom and I spent 2 weeks there sight-seeing after graduation.  This was my mom's first time coming out to Hawai'i since I've been in school.  We were lucky enough to get to go to the Big Island and Maui.  I got gifts for my friends and I came up with these cards to send with their gifts.
I used a purple hibicus flower patterned paper for the background that I got from a paper pad.  I used bright paper to accent that I used black satin ribbon.  I embossed the accent paper with my Cuttlebug and the D'vine Swirls embossing folder.  The hibicus flower was cut from the Luau Seasonal cartridge.  I also popped up the pink hibicus flower so it would stand out even more.  I added some bling and white gel pen accents.
The message in the card read "May the waves kiss your feet, the sand be your seat, and your friends outnumber the stars."  It was a perfect sentiment for my awesome friends that have been my cheerleaders throughout school.
My mom asked if I wold make cards to give with the gifts she got her friends.  I used the Luau cartridge and the D'vine Swirls embossing folder again for these.  I added some sparkles and purple ribbon to each of the cards.
Lastly, I decorated some plain white takeout containers for the gifts my mom had.  I used more of the patterned paper from the same paper pad.  I stamped the tags with a hibicus flower and tied a ribbon the finish it off.
Have a Magical Day!!!

Pooh and Friends Cards

Hi,
After making the Tiggerific Birthday card for my stepmom I decided that I loved it so much that I wanted to make more.  I wanted to make one of each of the main characters from the Pooh and Friends cartridge.  I used the My Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round the corners of all the cards.  I got cute polka dot paper that I used as a background.  I added some detail with my white jelly roll pen and white ribbon on each of the cards.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
Have a Magical Day!!!
